Epic Games Announces $8 Million Fortnite Tournament
Fortnite developer Epic Games has announced its first official esports tournament titled 'Summer Skirmish' - with $8 Million in prize money up for grabs.
Epic Games announced today that it will be giving away $8 million in prize money for its first major Fortnite eSports competition, the first of the $100 million it has for competitions in the 2018-19 season, and the previous announcement of the Fortnite World Cup 2019..
The Summer Skirmish will begin with a $250,000 duos tournament this weekend July 13 - 15, and will be an invitational for community creators and "players who have demonstrated their competitive prowess in the game.
A lot of Jamaicans have been asking about Fornite tournaments in Jamaica and this announcement should help us and other Tournament Organizers to get some insight into how to go about hosting tournaments.
